During the last International Congress, the Lord reminded His people that they were not only salt and light but also His ambassadors. Many of today’s advancedcountrieshave been greatly helped astheChristian community extended thelight of Christ beyond the walls of the churchto their respective societies.
Similarly, the church in Africa has been the source of so manybenefits to the society especially in the areas of basic infrastructures such as education, health, water and sanitation.In many casestheypioneered these fields before governments and other non-governmental organs entered them.But the field of governance remains a great challenge. Yet the Lord exhorts His people in the old and new testaments to ensure good governance, peace, progressand prosperity(Jer.29:4-7,Mt. 5:13-15,Rom.13.1-7). Thus this advisory group helps RCCG to action the Scriptureinjunction toGod’s people to be active in the economy and politics of their societies as salt and light.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
To this end,theGeneral Overseerof the Redeemed Christian Church in consultation with the Governing Council of the Missionistaskinga high level Advisory Council to providehim bi-annually and as the occasion demandswithrecommendationsbased ontheiranalysis of the social, economic and political trendsatglobal and/or nationallevels. The Council wouldhelpestablish how the Church can impact the society Socially, Economically and Politically.
