During the last International Congress, the Lord reminded His people that they were not only salt and light but also His ambassadors. Many of today’s advanced countries have been greatly helped as the Christian community extended the light of Christ beyond the walls of the church to their respective societies.
Similarly, the church in Africa has been the source of so many benefits to the society especially in the areas of basic infrastructures such as education, health, water and sanitation. In many cases they pioneered these fields before governments and other non-governmental organs entered them. But the field of governance remains a great challenge. Yet the Lord exhorts His people in the old and new testaments to ensure good governance, peace, progress and prosperity (Jer.29:4-7, Mt. 5:13-15, Rom.13.1-7). Thus this advisory group helps RCCG to action the Scripture injunction to God’s people to be active in the economy and politics of their societies as salt and light.
